Step four - improve your knowledge and skills

We’ve added this step just in case you don’t get the job the first time around.

If you got as far as attending an assessment centre you could join our recruitment register, which is sent out to employers on a monthly basis. If you attended an interview, at any stage of the recruitment process, don’t forget to ask for feedback – you’ll be able to take this experience to your next one.

If you feel you need some extra skills to boost your application, ICAEW have a couple of great computer based courses which might give you the edge you need:

  • Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) – CFAB is designed to develop your general knowledge in finance, accounting and business and it is a potential route into the ACA. There are no qualification entry requirements and study is entirely flexible – find out more.
  • Business Sustainability Programme – this is a highly topical programme which is designed to increase your knowledge of corporate responsibility – a great way to impress an interviewer! The first two modules are free – register now.
